Locating your Cabinet
- Ensure there is sufficient clearance at the front for easy access and ventilation.
- Maintain 300mm clearance at the top to ensure the inlet and outlet vents are not obstructed, allowing proper ventilation.
- Maintain at least 100mm clearance at the back and sides to allow for proper airflow and avoid overheating.
- Avoid placing the ovens too close to walls or other equipment to prevent performance issues.
-
IN SUMMARY: Clearance Requirements for TD-1200/2400 Models
- Front: 900 mm
- Back: 100 mm
- Sides: 100 mm
- Top: 300 mm
Castors
The large capacity drying ovens are equipped with lockable castors to prevent cabinet movement.
- Ensure the large capacity drying oven is placed on a flat, stable surface. An uneven surface may cause instability within the cabinet and increase the risk of the unit tipping over or moving if the castors are not locked.
- To secure the oven in place, press down on the brake lever to lock the castors. Always ensure the castors are locked to prevent unintended movement (Fig. 1).
- When positioning the drying oven, ensure the castors remain accessible for locking (Fig. 3) and unlocking (Fig. 2). If the castors are damaged, contact your supplier or Thermoline for assistance.
Inlet and Exhaust
All drying ovens are equipped with an inlet and an exhaust port located on the top of the cabinet.
- The inlet regulates the amount of fresh (dry) air that enters the cabinet.
- The outlet controls the amount of exhaust air that exits the cabinet.
Together, the inlet and exhaust ports work to regulate the drying rate by balancing the air exchange within the oven.
Exhaust Requirements
-
The top covers of the inlet and exhaust can be rotated in either direction to open the exhaust and allow airflow. The air vents are located on the top of the cabinet.
-
For all drying ovens covered in this manual:
- The exhaust is positioned at the rear, and the inlet is at the front when facing the oven.
The exact position and number of fans may vary by model, but the overall configuration remains consistent.
-
The drying oven’s vents can be connected to a ventilation system, either for the exhaust only or for both the inlet and exhaust. To connect, first remove the vent covers.
-
To prevent a pressure drop, ensure the connected ventilation pipe is no smaller than 75mm in diameter for proper airflow and ventilation.
Shelves
The TD-1200 and TD-2400 ovens are equipped with shelf runners spaced at 100mm intervals, providing flexibility for accommodating trays and shelves.
Levels:
- Each door features 13 levels of shelf runners.
- This allows for:
- A total of 13 open wire shelves or up to 39 trays on the TD-1200.
- A total of 26 open wire shelves or up to 78 trays on the TD-2400.
Loading Guidelines
Proper loading of shelves is crucial to maintain consistent airflow throughout the cabinet and ensure the desired temperature is achieved. Correctly distributing the load improves both performance and efficiency.
Loading Requirements:
-
Even Distribution:
Spread the load evenly across all shelves rather than stacking items on a single shelf. This ensures unobstructed airflow throughout the chamber. -
Ventilation Clearance:
Do not block the air vents located in the rear panel to maintain proper airflow. -
Avoid Floor Loading:
Do not place samples directly on the floor of the oven. -
Spacing:
Leave at least 50mm space between the samples and the walls when using open wire shelves to ensure adequate airflow
SETUP WARNINGS
- When positioning the cabinet, ensure the castors remain accessible for locking and unlocking. Report any damage to the castors to the supplier or manufacturer.
- Keep the exhaust area clear of any obstructions to maintain proper ventilation. Do not place objects on top of the exhaust.
- Use caution when removing packaging, especially when using knives or sharp tools to cut tape and cardboard.
BMS Output
The large capacity drying oven can be fitted with an optional 3-pin socket for connection to a building monitoring system or phone dialler. A separate plug is also provided for connecting the socket to your system. The BMS socket is located on the rear of the oven.
For detailed instructions on the BMS output, refer to the BMS Manual.
