Intended Use
The Thermoline Premium Laboratory Freezers—520, 750, and 950 models—are designed and manufactured to maintain safe and precise temperature conditions for stored items. Operating within a range of -20°C to -30°C, these freezers feature alarms set 5°C above and below the setpoint, ensuring reliable performance with industry-standard forced draught refrigeration.
Control Accuracy: ±0.5°C
Operating Temperature: from -20°C to -30°C in the freezers.
Unpacking
Unpacking process for foam wrapped and crated:
In most cases, the freezer will be foam-wrapped and delivered on its castors via sensitive freight. (Fig 1)
- For remote deliveries, the freezer may arrive in a crate. To remove the crate packaging (Fig 2):
- Unscrew both the left and right sides of the packaging.
- A forklift is required to safely remove the freezer from the crate.
Moving and Lifting
Moving the freezer:
- Ensure that the freezer is rolled on an even and flat surface. Uneven surfaces can cause the freezer to fall over.
IMPORTANT
Freezers are 'Top Heavy'. Do not move the freezer too quickly. (Fig 3 & 4)

Operating Environment
Location
- Place the freezer away from direct sunlight and heat sources (e.g., heaters).
- Ensure the room's ambient temperature does not exceed the freezer's operational limits.
- The freezer should be stored inside at all times. Failure to adhere to this could cause significant drops in cabinet performance and damage to items stored inside.
Environmental Conditions
Condition | Temperature | Humidity |
Extreme Operating Environment | 10°C to 32°C | Up to 85% RH |
Optimal Environment | 23°C (±2.0°C) | 50% RH (±5% RH) |
Electrical Connections
This freezer requires a 10amp, 230V, 50Hz power supply. Use a dedicated outlet for the freezer, and avoid using power boards or extension cords. Each freezer is supplied with a standard 3-pin moulded plug for connection to the mains.
Power Supply:
- The freezer comes with a 2.5m removable mains power lead, featuring a three-pin plug and a female IEC plug.
- Ensure the freezer is positioned at a reasonable distance from the power supply.
Operating Environment Warnings
-
The freezer should be stored indoors at all times. Failure to adhere to this could cause significant drops in cabinet performance and damage to items stored inside.
- When removing packaging, exercise caution when using knives to cut tape and cardboard to avoid damaging the freezer.
