Why do we use sensitive freight?

We offer various freight options to transport equipment to our valued customers. Selecting the most suitable option is crucial, considering factors such as cost, safety, flexibility, and the type of service provided by our freight partners.

Thermoline uses a sensitive freight carrier for much of the equipment that we provide. Generally,
anything on castors with a refrigeration system will only go with sensitive freight or will be packed in a crate if that isn't possible. In the TI incubator and TBW blanket warmer range, the cabinets from 360 litres and larger are treated the same.

The large TD-78 drying oven is also usually sent with sensitive freight, mainly because of its height. When packed in a crate, it can be too tall for most delivery trucks.

The main reason that we only offer this service on these items is protection from damage and to ensure that they arrive in the condition that they left our factory.

Below on the left is a single door cabinet packed for a sensitive freight carrier. It can be moved into place on its castors very easily. On the right is the same type of cabinet packed into a crate. The cost of the crate alone makes any saving using a general freight carrier even more expensive. On-site, you need a forklift to lift the cabinet out of the crate safely.

Benefits of Sensitive Freight:

  •  Easy, safe and versatile loading and unloading.
  • Access to other services including unpacking, placement and even removal of old equipment.
  • Cheaper than using crates.
Sensitive freight trucks feature hydraulic tailgates, air ride suspension, anti-skid floors, internal padded rub rails and mechanisms for keeping your fragile freight completely secure at all times.

Please Note: We always ask customers not to dispose of packing materials or the crate until a full inspection and operation check of the cabinet.
