Problem: The cabinet is not cooling

  • Cause: The pressure switch may have tripped.
  • Fix:
    1. Press the red button at the top left of the cabinet to reset.
    2. If the compressor doesn’t start after pressing the button, wait 30 minutes for the system pressure to drop to a safe level (1800 kPa).
    3. Try resetting again.
    • Note: If the pressure switch trips more than twice, contact Thermoline's service team.

Problem: The lever latch door will not close (latch too tight) or does not close firmly (latch too loose)

  • Cause: The strike position may need adjustment.
  • Fix:
    1. If the latch is overly tight, move the strike forward (away from the cabinet).
    2. If the latch feels loose, move the strike backward (towards the cabinet).
    3. Loosen the Phillips screw at the bottom of the strike to adjust. Use the grooved surface to secure the position once tightened.
    4. Make small adjustments (one groove at a time) until the latch fits correctly.

Problem: Sudden loss of power

  • Cause: The Manual Safety Thermostat may have tripped.
  • Fix: Check that the fans are operation.

Problem: Battery Alarm still occurs every 7 days, even after being acknowledged and reset

  • Cause: One of the backup battery's voltage may be low.
  • Fix:
    1. Replace the battery.
    • Part Number: 70320 - Sealed Lead Acid Battery Backup (12V 9.5A).

Problem: Humidity is not being controlled

  • Cause: This could be due to several reasons:
    • The humidity function is not turned on.
    • The float switch is stuck.
    • The solenoid is stuck.
    • Refrigerant gas has been lost.
  • Fix:
    1. Ensure the humidity function is turned on by following the instructions in the technical manual.
    2. If the float switch is stuck, replace it (Part Number: 41430 - Stainless Steel Float Switch). This must be done by a qualified technician.
    3. If the solenoid is stuck, replace it (Part Number: 10923 - Water Solenoid). This must be done by a qualified technician.
    4. If refrigerant gas is lost, consult a qualified refrigeration technician.

Problem: The cabinet is not reaching the temperature

  • Cause: Inadequate air circulation or interference from adjacent chambers.
  • Fix:
    1. Ensure there is enough air circulation around the cabinet by providing adequate spacing.
    2. Check that the outlet of any adjacent cabinet does not face the condenser inlet. If this cannot be resolved, install a deflector.
    3. Check the refrigeration pressure switch has not tripped

Problem: I cannot acknowledge the alarm

  • Cause: The chamber may still be in an alarm condition.
  • Fix:
    1. Resolve the underlying issue causing the alarm.
    2. Press and hold the alarm acknowledgment button for 10 seconds after the issue is resolved.

Problem: Water Supply Issues

  • Cause: The water supply to the humidifier trough may be insufficient or blocked.
  • Fix:
    1. Check if the water supply line is connected and the valve is open.
    2. Inspect the filter for clogs and clean or replace it as needed.
    3. Ensure the pressure in the water feed line is adequate.

Problem: Humidity Levels Too High or Low

  • Cause: Calibration settings may be incorrect or the humidity function may not be working properly.
  • Fix:
    1. Verify that the humidity settings match the desired program.
    2. Check for the proper function of the humidifier and sensors. If necessary, recalibrate using the calibration menu.
    3. Inspect the water trough for proper operation and cleanliness.

Problem: Airflow Obstructions

  • Cause: Blockages around the ventilation grills or air deflectors improperly installed.
  • Fix:
    1. Clear any obstructions around the cabinet to ensure proper airflow.
    2. Inspect the deflectors and ensure they are directing airflow away from adjacent cabinets.

Problem: Condensation Inside the Cabinet

  • Cause: The cooling system or seals on the door may be compromised.
  • Fix:
    1. Check if the door gasket is sealing properly. Clean or replace if necessary.
    2. Inspect for any blocked drainage from the cooling system.
    3. Verify the setpoints for temperature and humidity to avoid extreme fluctuations.

Problem: Program Settings Not Running as Expected

  • Cause: Incorrect program configuration or controller issue.
  • Fix:
    1. Verify that all program segments are correctly set, including time, temperature, humidity, and end action.
    2. Ensure the program is properly started through the setup menu.
    3. Reset the controller and reinitialize the program if it fails to respond.

Problem: Noise or Vibrations

  • Cause: Loose components or the compressor working harder than normal.
  • Fix:
    1. Inspect the cabinet for loose screws or components and tighten as needed.
    2. Check that the condenser fan and internal air circulating fans have not come loose.
    3. Check if the cabinet is on a stable surface and adjust as necessary.
    4. If the noise persists, consult a technician to inspect the compressor or fans.

Problem: Lighting Does Not Turn On

  • Cause: Lighting settings may not be configured, or there may be a hardware issue.
  • Fix:
    1. Check the lighting settings in the STAR X controller and ensure the lights are enabled in SOV or PSV mode.
    2. Inspect the dimmer knobs for proper operation.
    3. Verify that the light connections are secure and functional.

Problem: Data Logging Issues

  • Cause: USB not detected or network not configured properly.
  • Fix:
    1. Ensure the USB stick is inserted correctly and has sufficient space for data.
    2. Verify the MAC address is registered with your IT department if using remote logging.
    3. Check that the STAR X controller is configured for data logging and displaying the correct date and time.

Problem: Temperature Fluctuations

  • Cause: Sensors may be dirty, misaligned, or faulty.
  • Fix:
    1. Inspect and clean the temperature sensors to remove dust or debris.
    2. Recalibrate the temperature settings via the calibration menu.
    3. If the issue persists, replace the faulty sensor with the appropriate part.
