General Cleaning Instructions
-
Interior, Exterior, and Door Gasket: Clean with a soft cloth and soapy water as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface and cause corrosion. Do not use caustic cleaning agents.
-
Electrical Components: Do not expose any electrical parts to moisture.
-
Water Trough Maintenance: The water trough provides humidity but can accumulate mineral deposits, especially with town water. Use the supplied Water Filter Assembly to reduce residual deposits. Regularly drain and clean the trough, replacing water every six months to minimise contamination. Check for corrosion during each cleaning, and use the front drain to remove water from the trough.
Cleaning Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is generally resistant to corrosion, but some chemicals and a lack of oxygen can cause rust or pitting. When routine cleaning, avoid deionized water and use water that meets the suggested quality requirements in the water quality section. Use a damp cloth for everyday cleaning, and avoid harsh chemicals.
Draining the Humidifier Trough and Depressurising the Water Feed Line
Each Humiditherm cabinet has a water supply to maintain humidity. The water trough is controlled by heating and cooling circuits, with an overflow for excess water and a manual drain tap (usually kept closed) for draining. Both lead to a 3/4" hose barb fitting at the back of the cabinet.
Steps to Drain the Water Trough:
-
Turn Off the Cabinet: Use the shutdown procedure to turn off the cabinet.
Note: Running the humidifier after turning off the water supply and opening the drain will depressurise the water inlet lines. -
Access the Drain Tap: Lift the cover at the bottom front of the cabinet to reach the drain tap.
-
Open and Clean: Open the tap to drain the trough, clean as needed, and then close the tap.
-
Refill: The trough will refill automatically once the cabinet is restarted.
Cleaning the Condenser
-
Power Off: Turn off power at the power point before beginning.
-
Locate the Condenser: The condenser is behind a grill on the right-hand side of the cabinet.
-
Remove the Grill: Unscrew the four corners of the grill and lift it off to access the condenser.
-
Clean Carefully: Use a soft brush or vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove any dust or lint buildup. Be careful not to damage the aluminium fins on the condenser face.
Door Gasket Maintenance
The door gasket should be cleaned regularly with a mild soap solution. Regular inspection is recommended. If the gasket needs replacement, please contact Thermoline for assistance.
Water Filter Replacement
-
Power Down: Turn off the cabinet and isolate the water supply.
-
Release Pressure: Relieve pressure in the line (see above), then disconnect the inlet and outlet water connections from the filter pack.
-
Remove Filter Pack: Take the filter pack out of the cabinet and place it on a flat surface.
-
Disassemble: Remove the six screws and lift off the front plate.
-
Replace Filters: Insert new filters, ensuring correct orientation and flow direction.
-
Reassemble: Reattach the cover and place the filter pack back in the cabinet. Reconnect the inlet and outlet lines, turn the water supply back on, and check for leaks.
-
Power On: Turn the cabinet back on.
