General Cleaning Instructions

  • Interior, Exterior, and Door Gasket: Clean with a soft cloth and soapy water as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface and cause corrosion. Do not use caustic cleaning agents.

  • Electrical Components: Do not expose any electrical parts to moisture.

  • Water Trough Maintenance: The water trough provides humidity but can accumulate mineral deposits, especially with town water. Use the supplied Water Filter Assembly to reduce residual deposits. Regularly drain and clean the trough, replacing water every six months to minimise contamination. Check for corrosion during each cleaning, and use the front drain to remove water from the trough.

Cleaning Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is generally resistant to corrosion, but some chemicals and a lack of oxygen can cause rust or pitting. When routine cleaning, avoid deionized water and use water that meets the suggested quality requirements in the water quality section. Use a damp cloth for everyday cleaning, and avoid harsh chemicals.

Draining the Humidifier and Depressurising the Water Feed Line

To maintain proper operation, the humidifier must be regularly drained, inspected, and cleaned. This process also serves to depressurise the water feed lines before replacing water filters.

Steps:

  1. Preparation: Ensure the cabinet is running with the humidity function enabled.
  2. Isolate the Water Supply: Turn off the water supply and open the drain tap on the humidifier. The float switches will prevent any damage.
  3. Power Off the Cabinet: Use the shutdown procedure to turn off the power after a short duration.
  4. Disconnect Water Lines: Once depressurised, disconnect the water lines. Minimal water spillage will occur during this process.

Inspecting and Cleaning the Nebuliser

After draining the water from the humidifier, follow these steps to inspect and clean the nebuliser:

  1. Access the Nebuliser: The nebuliser consists of two small discs. The lid is secured by four screws. Remove these to access the nebuliser.

  2. Black Dot on the Nebuliser: A small black dot may be visible at the centre of the nebuliser. This is normal and should not be a concern.

Note: Do not attempt to remove this dot, as it could cause damage.
  3. Flush the Nebuliser: If needed, flush the nebuliser with clean water to remove any debris or buildup.

  4. Reassemble: Replace the lid securely after cleaning and ensure the drain valve is closed.

  5. Refill the Humidifier: Turn the water supply back on. The humidifier will refill automatically when the Climatron is powered on.

Cleaning the Condenser

  1. Power Off: Turn off power at the power point before beginning.

  2. Locate the Condenser: The condenser is located on the left-hand side of the cabinet behind the Front Panel.

  3. Remove the Front Panel: To remove the panel, simply lift upwards to remove it. At this point you would have full access to the condenser and would be able to clean it.

  4. Clean Carefully: Use a soft brush or vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove any dust or lint buildup. Be careful not to damage the aluminium fins on the condenser face.

NOTE: The touch screen will remain connected to the front panel. The photos below do not show a Climatron cabinet, but the process is the same.

Door Gasket Maintenance

The door gasket should be cleaned regularly with a mild soap solution. Regular inspection is recommended. If the gasket needs replacement, please contact Thermoline for assistance.

Water Filter Replacement

Thermoline suggests that, at a minimum, the particulate and carbon filters are replaced every six months. This could be more frequent depending on the feed water quality. Replacement filters are available through the Thermoline online parts store (MFC2000).

  1. Power Down: Turn off the cabinet and isolate the water supply.

  2. Release Pressure: Relieve pressure in the line (see above), then disconnect the inlet and outlet water connections from the filter pack.

  3. Remove Filter Pack: Take the filter pack out of the cabinet and place it on a flat surface.

  4. Disassemble: Remove the six screws and lift off the front plate.

  5. Replace Filters: Insert new filters, ensuring correct orientation and flow direction.

  6. Reassemble: Reattach the cover and place the filter pack back in the cabinet. Reconnect the inlet and outlet lines, turn the water supply back on, and check for leaks.

  7. Power On: Turn the cabinet back on.
