Intended Use
All Thermoline Water Baths are designed to operate between ambient +5°C and 99.9°C. The Thermoline Water Baths offer an industry standard in temperature-controlled baths.
- Temperature stability: ±0.3°C
- Operating temperature: Up to 99.9°C
Unpacking
- The water bath will be delivered in a carton.
- To unpack, cut the cling wrap and straps, then carefully slide the box upwards to expose the bath.
- If you notice any damage upon opening your package, report the details immediately to your supplier or Thermoline at:

Operating Environment
Water Bath Location
- Place the water bath away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Ensure the room's ambient temperature does not exceed the water bath's operational limits.
- Water baths must be stored indoors at all times. Failure to do so may result in a significant decline in water bath performance and potential damage to stored items.
- When not in use, ensure the unit is powered down and stored out of the water.
Environmental Conditions
Condition | Temperature | Humidity |
Extreme Operating Environment | 10°C to 32°C | Up to 80% RH |
Optimal Environment | 23°C (±5.0°C) | 50% RH (±25% RH) |
Electrical Connections

- All water baths require a 10amp, 230V, 50Hz power supply.
- Use a dedicated outlet for the circulator, and avoid using power boards or extension cords.
- Included with the water bath is a removable mains power lead with a three-pin plug and a straight female IEC plug.
- On the water bath itself, there is a 10-amp male IEC socket (power port). Ensure that the mains plug and switch are easily accessible.
Water Quality
For optimal performance, follow the recommended water quality parameters below. Due to the extensive use of stainless steel in Thermoline products, do not use deionised water. It can cause corrosion (due to leaching over time) that may not be covered under warranty.
Parameter | Range |
Resistivity | 0.1 - 0.5 MΩ |
Conductivity | 2-10 µs/cm |
Total Dissolved Solids | <10 mg/L |
Acidity | 6-7 pH |
Avoid tap water if possible. Using tap water may significantly increase the required frequency of cleaning and maintenance of the equipment. Unacceptable water can cause excess scale build-up and mineral deposits, particularly in humidity systems. This, in turn, can cause heater failure and issues with oat switches. In water baths, corrosion due to insucient cleaning is the primary concern, with heater circulators and circulation pumps being the most signicant issue.
Note: All Thermoline equipment using water requires regular maintenance, inspection and cleaning. Six monthly for Humiditherm, Envirotherm and Climatron cabinets. Water baths will require much more frequent cleaning due to the ease of contamination in the water. Water should be changed for any signs of contamination.
Descaling may be required if the water used is continuously topped up to compensate for evaporation as this concentrates the mineral deposits in the water. The bath should be completely drained regularly and filled with fresh, clean water.
WARNINGS
- Water baths must be stored indoors at all times. Failure to do so may result in a significant decline in water bath performance and potential damage to stored items.
- Water baths are not suitable for use with flammable solvents. They contain components that may act as an ignition source.
- Water baths can heat water up to 100°C and may become hot to the touch, including optional lids. Handle with care.
- When removing packaging from the water bath, use caution when handling knives to cut tape and cardboard.
